KDP Finally Worked

I am finally FINALLY (and I mean finally this time) happy to say that Book 2 of The Wanderer Trilogy is available for purchase in size 12 font that matches the format of Book 1. The Chapter font is the same Courier New that Purpose is, and the same single-spacing as the new version of Purpose that was just recently released. Breathing a sigh of relief is an understatement at this point, but everyone can now enjoy the fruits of my labor! 🙂

So where do I go from here? I have been getting a lot of requests to do an audiobook version of Purpose and Preservation for people who dislike reading or do not have the time to sit down and read an entire novel. While I may wait until the release of Book 3, it is an option that I am exploring. My fiancé and I are in the early process of purchasing our first home and would like to find some space to have an office to write and record audiobooks. That would be ideal, anyway. 🙂

But for the time being, I’m taking a little bit of time off before starting Book 3: Prowess to come into it with a fresh mind. It won’t be but for a few weeks, but work will begin shortly! Thank you again to everyone who supports my work! The best thing you can do to help me build on my dream and keep me writing is by writing reviews on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other outlets where you purchase my books. This boosts my place among other writers and gives me a good handle on what you all are enjoying about my writing! Thank you again 🙂

Hard Copies are Hard

Good Morning all!

I finally received my Author’s Copy of Preservation, and I am somewhat disappointed to say the least. When I originally published Purpose, the software the Amazon used was called CreateSpace. I had minimal issues and was able to publish relatively quickly and without delay. However, they took down CreateSpace and integrated it into KDP where everything has to be uploaded separately.

But for some reason, when I checked the Preview of my 2nd book, prior to publishing, it appeared standard. I was concerned that the page count was only 187 considering it was only 10K words less than the 1st (with 357 pages after single spacing). So I pushed it through and waited. Unfortunately, you never really know how it’s going to turn out until you receive the physically copy.

My copy was delivered yesterday evening. The cover looked amazing and lined up great! But the moment I opened the book, my heart sank. For some reason, the size font is like 8 or 10, not 12. It is so small that it would make sense for a book with 1,000 pages, but not for mine. I have already struggled with this Amazon software because it is so finicky and frustrating (and some other words that begin with the letter “f”). What do I have to do tonight? Fix it and hope that size 12 is the size that I need to match Purpose.
