First 1-Star Review

Hey everyone! I just wanted to say that I am still working on getting these repeated issues with WordPress on my computer fixed. However, I just moved into a new home and do not have wi-fi yet, so therefore cannot work on fixing the issue at the moment.

But I wanted to bring up a concern. I noticed that I have a 1-Star review on Preservation and yet the reviewer did not bother to explain why. I understand that my writing is not for everyone, but as an author, I am always striving to get better. And how can I do that when there is not a single critique?

I’m not frustrated at the fact that it was 1 star. Not at all. Haters gonna hate 😁. But if you are going to the trouble of reviewing something that took 2 years to write, give me the courtesy of explaining why it was so horrible in your opinion. Maybe there is something I can work on. Who knows?

Does any other writer/author feel this way?

Smashwords SALE!

Good morning all! I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted but my computer is been acting up lately. I’m working really hard on my third book! Hopefully I’ll be able to post them or writing prompts here and update soon!

I decided to run a promo on Smashwords for their 12th annual read an e-book week. It runs between March 7th, 2021 and March 13th, 2021. Ebooks for both Purpose and Preservation will be 50% off during that time!!!!

Get it on sale while you can!

Happy Halloween!

I hope that everyone who celebrated Halloween/All Hallows Eve/Samhain, etc. really enjoyed it. Despite everything that is going on in the world, hopefully you were able to spend time with your family and enjoy the holiday as much as possible!

Quick update for everyone! I began working on Book Three: Prowess the other day and have plans to work on it again this weekend. Unfortunately, I have been working a lot of Saturdays lately. And between raising a toddler, exercising, cooking, cleaning, and working, I haven’t had much time to sit down to start the final book of this trilogy. But this weekend, I neither work nor have my daughter, so that is perfect for me to sit down, relax, and mentally get myself ready to write! I already have an outline and am very excited to share all of the twists and turns of this final book with all of you – my lovely supporters and readers!

I also thought about doing a writing prompt or two if I am not completely immersed in Prowess or need to get the ‘creative juices’ flowing. Stay tuned for, at the very least, some updates!

For those of you who haven’t had a chance to purchase Preservation, it is now available on Amazon – both hard copy and eBook. Barnes and Noble and Kobo are only available on eBook. I spent some extra time downsizing both books to be single-spaced and save on trees (paper) and to help it read better.

But back to Halloween! I decided, last minute, to dress up like Eva (minus her famous blades) to see if I could drum up additional sales from people asking about it at work. I dressed up on Friday and got a few inquisitors, but the coming weeks should yield a favorable result! Either way, it was fun to tear up some Goodwill clothes and spray fake blood and dirt on me. Let’s just say my costume was a stark contrast from everyone else. 🙂

This isn’t the greatest picture I had, but it was the only one of my entire costume. 😀

Hard Copies are Hard

Good Morning all!

I finally received my Author’s Copy of Preservation, and I am somewhat disappointed to say the least. When I originally published Purpose, the software the Amazon used was called CreateSpace. I had minimal issues and was able to publish relatively quickly and without delay. However, they took down CreateSpace and integrated it into KDP where everything has to be uploaded separately.

But for some reason, when I checked the Preview of my 2nd book, prior to publishing, it appeared standard. I was concerned that the page count was only 187 considering it was only 10K words less than the 1st (with 357 pages after single spacing). So I pushed it through and waited. Unfortunately, you never really know how it’s going to turn out until you receive the physically copy.

My copy was delivered yesterday evening. The cover looked amazing and lined up great! But the moment I opened the book, my heart sank. For some reason, the size font is like 8 or 10, not 12. It is so small that it would make sense for a book with 1,000 pages, but not for mine. I have already struggled with this Amazon software because it is so finicky and frustrating (and some other words that begin with the letter “f”). What do I have to do tonight? Fix it and hope that size 12 is the size that I need to match Purpose.

Writing Elation

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing well! I am happy to finally announce that Amazon has finally accepted the hard copy of Preservation! After numerous edits by the kind woman who formats my book covers, the sizing finally fits the print. I cannot describe how much elation I feel seeing the word “Live” next to my next novel.

Click here for a direct link to purchase Preservation. Amazon has both Hard Copies and eBooks available. The more condensed copies of Purpose are also available here at a lower price! And please, if you do me the kindness of purchasing and reading any of my books, reviews are greatly appreciated! Any feedback that I can take in future books makes me a both better writer and helps get my name out into the industry. One review from each book purchase can skyrocket my career as an author to help me realize my dream of being able to do this full time. And if that happens, it means more books for you, my amazing readers! 🙂

Each and every person who supports my dream has a special place in my heart! Thank you so much for everything!
